The first phase of the long-awaited Ballyclare Western Relief Road has officially opened, following a significant investment from Lotus Homes.
As part of their commitment to the people of Ballyclare, Lotus Homes pledged to deliver the first phase of the Ballyclare Western Relief Road, which runs for 800 metres from the Templepatrick Road to the Doagh Road, in 2019, when progressing plans for 209 new family homes in the town.
Following the completion of construction works on the road, which saw Lotus Homes invest c. £4 million, representatives from Lotus Homes were joined by local elected representatives to officially open the first phase of road in time for Christmas.
Paul O’Rourke, Managing Director of Lotus Homes, said:
”The Ballyclare Western Relief Road has been called for since the 1980s, and we at Lotus Homes are delighted to be able to deliver the first phase of this significant piece of infrastructure to benefit the people of Ballyclare. We are grateful to the local elected representatives for their support during the construction of the road, as we know how strongly they have campaigned for this road to be built.
“Ballyclare has been identified as having a fast growing population due to its popularity, and we are confident that our investment in Ballyclare’s infrastructure will not only improve travel for residents, but will also help to create commercial opportunities for the town.
“We are now looking forward to adding to the fabric of Ballyclare with 209 new contemporary, high-specification family homes. Our development at Rushfield has been incredibly popular, and we look forward to adding to the number of family homes available in the Lotus Homes high-quality style that the people of Ballyclare have come to know.”
