Ormeau Baths, a co-working space and tech community based out of an historic former bath house in the heart of Belfast, had been vacant for several years until four entrepreneurs decided to revive it and turn it into a co-working space and innovation hub for the growing number of Northern Ireland tech start-ups who were spread out across the city.
MCE was responsible for building the narrative around Ormeau Baths as something new and different for Belfast. The goal was making it the go-to place for aspiring company founders, early stage ventures, investors and mentors in the tech space.
Having trailed the plans for Ormeau Baths extensively in the media, MCE worked with the founders to launch the Baths officially with a visit from Silicon Valley-based founder member Sarah Friar and her company Square.
This media preview event was designed to reach a wide target audience which included business and tech media across broadcast, print and online channels in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and beyond. Ten journalists attended the showcase and press briefing in person.
There was a high level of engagement from the launch on social media, with journalists and founders engaging in content creation from the sneak peek event.
Photos taken at the event were shared widely on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Video and audio content were also created to extend the story’s reach on social media.
Today, the Baths has expanded in size and has become a key part of the tech ecosystem in Belfast.
